Barbara E. Kittay Joins Wiley Rein As Of Counsel In Its Litigation And White Collar Defense Practices

Ms. Kittay, a former Assistant U.S. Attorney, is an experienced litigator with more than two decades of service in the U.S. Attorney's Office in Washington, DC and the U.S. Department of Justice's Criminal Division. She has tried hundreds of cases in state and federal court, including more than 20 trials in U.S. District Court, and has argued many appeals in state and federal appellate courts. At the firm, she will handle white collar matters ranging from criminal cases to civil False Claims Act matters and internal investigations.

Prior to joining the U.S. Attorney's Office in 1997, Ms. Kittay spent ten years at the U.S. Department of Justice, Criminal Division, where she pursued white collar criminal matters, holding positions in the Office of the Assistant Attorney General, as the Deputy Chief for Litigation, Money Laundering Section, and as a Trial Attorney in the Fraud Section. Ms. Kittay also has practiced in general litigation, white collar defense and bankruptcy at Schnader, Harrison, Segal & Lewis in Philadelphia and served for three years as the Assistant District Attorney in Philadelphia.

Ms. Kittay received her J.D., summa cum laude, from Syracuse University College of Law. She also holds an M.S. in Journalism from Syracuse University and an A.B. in Political Science from Brown University. She can be reached at (202)719-7488 or
