Fruqan Mouzon Of Gibbons P.C. Named Senate Democratic Majority Office GC

Fruqan Mouzon, a director at Gibbons P.C., has been named general counsel of the Senate Democratic Majority Office by Senate President Steve Sweeney. In this role, Mr. Mouzon will serve as the chief legal adviser to the office.

While at Gibbons P.C., Mr. Mouzon has focused his practice on the areas of business and commercial litigation, government affairs, and white collar criminal defense. His public sector legal experience includes serving as an assistant counsel to New Jersey Governor Jon S. Corzine from 2006 through 2008. In that post, Mr. Mouzon reviewed and advised the governor on legislation involving consumer affairs, education and civil rights, in addition to serving as the governor’s designee on the State House Commission and as project manager for the state’s search for a Newark Public School Superintendent.

From 2012 to 2013, Mr. Mouzon served as president of the Garden State Bar Association, the African-American Bar Association of New Jersey. He is recognized as a leading business and commercial litigator in the state by Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers®, and was named to “40 Under 40” lists of leading attorneys by the New Jersey Law Journal and leading business executives by The Network Journal.
