Weil’s litigation successes across multiple practice areas and jurisdictions were recognized in the recently released Benchmark Litigation 2015, a guide to leading litigation firms and attorneys in the United States.

The firm was recognized as a national leader in seven categories: Antitrust, Bankruptcy, General Commercial, International Arbitration, Products Liability, Securities, and White-Collar Crime. The guide once again ranked Weil’s bankruptcy litigation practice as first-tier, while also recognizing Weil’s litigation teams in California, Florida, and New York as local standouts.

In addition, Benchmark Litigation named 17 Weil attorneys as national “Litigation Stars” in their areas of expertise. The guide ranked 21 Weil attorneys as “Local Litigation Stars” and four Weil attorneys as “Future Stars” in their respective states.

The exceptional track record of Weil’s Litigation Department has earned praise from numerous publications, including in the Financial Times 2013 U.S. Innovative Lawyers Report, which named the group among “Heavyweight Champions.”

Featuring approximately 400 lawyers in more than a dozen practice areas and specialties, Weil's litigation practice is one of the largest, most diversified, and highly respected in the legal industry. Weil provides clients with solutions to complex, multi-faceted legal challenges, including business disputes, regulatory actions and investigations, financial distress, and other potentially enterprise-changing circumstances. Weil's litigators partner with clients not just to address immediate concerns but to integrate legal strategy into the wider framework of their current and future business objectives.

Benchmark Litigation, which focuses exclusively on the U.S. litigation market, finalizes its rankings following a six-month research period, which includes an analysis of recent casework as well as interviews with the nation’s leading private practice lawyers and in-house counsel.

A group of 15 Weil women was recently recognized in Expert Guides’ 2014 “Women in Business Law” publication. The practice areas in which these women earned “Expert” status include Capital Markets (Anna M. Frankowska), Commercial Arbitration (Juliet Blanch and Karolina Horakova), Competition and Antitrust (Ann Malester), Corporate Governance (Ellen J. Odoner), Insolvency and Restructuring (Lori FifeMarcia Goldstein, and Jacqueline Marcus), Litigation (Diane P. Sullivan), Mergers and Acquisitions (Akiko Mikumo and Jane Ross), Private Equity (Marilyn French), Product Liability (Kathleen O’Connor), Structured Finance and Securitization (Jacky Kelly), and Tax (Kimberly S. Blanchard).

These leading lawyers span from nine of Weil’s offices around the globe – Boston, Hong Kong, London, New York, Prague, Princeton, Silicon Valley, Warsaw, and Washington DC. Notably, Anna Frankowska was the only lawyer in Poland recognized for Capital Markets. Additionally, Karolina Horakova was the only lawyer in the Czech Republic mentioned for Commercial Arbitration.
