Letter From The President Of The European Chapter Of The Association Of Corporate Counsel

2005-01-01 01:00

To The Readers Of The Metropolitan Corporate Counsel:

As I said in my interview with the Editor in March 2002. I enjoy and value every minute of my ACC activities. This is even more true today. ACC's in-house network is invaluable. and our resources - many of which are accessible 24x7 on ACCOnlinesm- provide an incomparable range of benefits for in-house counsel wherever their location and whatever their business.

Among the benefits I enjoy at the local level are opportunities for in-house counsel to network with their peers. This month. ACC-Europe is hosting a holiday social in London featuring novel entertainment by an illusionist and a holiday happy hour in Paris. which is a social networking event. pure and simple.

Helping in-house counsel address the substantive issues in their day-to-day practice. ACC-Europe will host a number of seminars throughout the coming year. For example. our March seminar in Paris. sponsored by Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson LLP. will focus on prevailing trends in discovery in international arbitration.

Of course. the stellar event of the year will be our two-day Annual Conference held this year in Brussels on June 20-21 and featuring a glamorous black tie dinner.

This will be preceded by a Global Summit for General Counsel highlighting the ways to meet the challenge of global practice. No less exciting is the prospect of our first European Corporate Counsel University in November.

I would like to thank all the volunteers. ACC staff and sponsors without whose dedication and help we would be unable to support our European members. I extend a warm invitation to your in-house readers to join us at our future events. For more information about our activities. visit our European Chapter's page at ACC's website. www.acca.com.
