McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC Attorney Stephen Gierasch will succeed Brad Gunnison as Co-Chair of the Corporate & Tax Group effective January 1, 2018 and will be collaborating with Tim Finnerty to lead the practice group.
“Steve’s extensive experience in his mergers and acquisitions practice perfectly situates him to further the success of our Corporate & Tax Group,” said David M. Kleppinger, McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC Chairman. “As we transition to the firm’s next generation of leaders, Steve’s dedication to our clients, our community and our profession will uphold the firm’s long-standing position as a legal industry leader.”
Steve is an experienced mergers and acquisitions attorney and trusted legal advisor to businesses and executives throughout Pennsylvania and beyond.
As a trusted lawyer, Steve often serves as primary outside general counsel to those companies with limited or no in-house legal capabilities. In doing so, Steve works with businesses to set legal strategy for their arrangements involving customers, vendors, strategic partners, employees and owners. In this “outside general counsel” practice, Steve marries sharp legal acumen with pragmatism, and all with a focus on achieving a client’s desired objectives and outcomes.
As a leading mergers and acquisitions attorney, Steve has successfully led numerous clients through mergers and acquisitions, sales and other strategic ventures – whether as lead attorney for sellers, buyers and investors or as local counsel for publicly-traded companies acquiring Pennsylvania-based businesses.  In the Pennsylvania corporate M&A community, Steve is widely-regarded as a “deal maker” who combines a keen sense of client objectives with an instinct for finding compromise, all with the aim of getting deals done.
