Holland & Knight Elects 18 Attorneys To Partnership

Howell W. Melton Jr., managing partner of Holland & Knight LLP, has announced that 18 attorneys in the firm have been elected to partnership effective January 1. Ten associates and eight senior counsel located in various offices throughout the firm were elevated.

The new partners are: Boston associates elevated to partnership Jeffrey Ganguly, a member of the Real Estate Section, and Thomas Johnston, a member of the Litigation Section; Boston senior counsel elevated to partnership, Jennifer Borden, a member of the Business Section, and Brian Colandreo, a member of the Litigation Section; Chicago associate elevated to partnership, Eric Dorkin, a member of the Litigation Section; Jacksonville associate elevated to partnership, Jennifer Mansfield, a member of the Litigation Section; Los Angeles senior counsel elevated to partnership, Alan Watson, a member of the Litigation Section; Miami associate elevated to partnership, Eduardo Ramos, a member of the Litigation Section; Miami senior counsel elevated to partnership, Emma Cristina Solaun, a member of the Business Section; New York City senior counsel elevated to partnership, Paul Cicchetti, a member of the Real Estate Section; Northern Virginia associate elevated to partnership, Adam August, a member of the Business Section; Northern Virginia senior counsel elevated to partnership, Michelle Rosati, a member of the Real Estate Section; Orlando associate elevated to partnership, Christopher Annunziato, a member of the Litigation Section; Portland associate elevated to partnership, Joshua Husbands, a member of the Business Section; Tampa associate elevated to partnership, Natalie Thomas, a member of the Litigation Section; Washington, DC associate elevated to partnership, Thomas Bentz, a member of the Business Section; Washington, DC senior counsel elevated to partnership, Bonni Kaufman, a member of the Government Section, and West Palm Beach senior counsel elevated to partnership, Michael Taylor, a member of the Business Section.

Holland & Knight has announced that Robert S. Highsmith Jr., a partner in the firm's Atlanta office, has been appointed by Gov. Sonny Perdue to the Judicial Nominating Commission for the State of Georgia.

Under the governor's executive order creating it, the commission's role is to nominate duly qualified persons to fill vacancies in the courts arising during the governor's term of office. The commission consists of members that have demonstrable knowledge of the judicial system and experience in the needs and operation of Georgia courts.

Mr. Highsmith practices legislative, administrative and regulatory law, government relations, and litigation. He serves as national Team Leader for the firm's State Capitals Team, and leads the firm's Georgia government relations practice.
