Texas law firm Winstead PC recently welcomed Claude B. Anello, Harry B. Dollar and Nathan Block to the firm's Houston office. Mr. Anello comes to Winstead as an income shareholder, while Mr. Dollar and Mr. Block join the firm as associates. All three will practice in the Real Estate Development & Investments Practice Group.
Mr. Anello's experience includes representation of the wireless telecommunications, automotive, health care and lending industries in a variety of real estate and asset-based lending transactions.
Winstead added two new attorneys recently when Nancy Furney and Lori Oliphant joined the team as shareholders in the taxation, employee benefits and private business practice group. Ms. Furney and Ms. Oliphant advise clients in all aspects of ERISA and employee benefit matters.
Ms. Furney and Ms. Oliphant represent a diverse group of clients, including Fortune 500 companies, in all areas of ERISA and employee benefit matters. They represent clients in connection with financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and in proceedings with the Internal Revenue Service, the Department of Labor and the Pension Benefits Guaranty Corporation.
Jeff Autrey and Keith Hopkinson recently joined Winstead as of counsel in the Business Transaction Department. Mr. Autrey represents insurance and insurance-related clients on regulatory matters and corporate transactions. Mr. Hopkinson helps clients through regulatory and legislative legal matters.
Mr. Autrey began his career as staff counsel for the State Board of Insurance and eventually served as general counsel for the agency. He later oversaw the Texas Medical Insurance Trust when he worked for the Texas Medical Association.
Mr. Hopkinson started his practice with the nation's largest insurance trade association, which put him in front of legislative committees and state regulators in 15 states.
Laura P. Sims has recently joined the Winstead real estate development practice group of Winstead as a shareholder in the Dallas office. Ms. Sims' focus is in retail real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, site development, and related loans.
