Drinker Biddle & Reath litigator Michael W. McTigue, Jr. has been named to BTI's 2007 Client Service All-Star Team. BTI interviewed more than 250 corporate counsel at large and Fortune 1000 companies. This year, the annual survey singled out 113 lawyers whom clients identified, unprompted, as delivering "unsurpassed excellence in client service."
The BTI Consulting Group, located in Wellesley, MA, conducts independent research on how clients acquire, manage and evaluate their professional service providers.
Mr. McTigue, a partner in the firm's Philadelphia office, is a vice chair of Drinker Biddle's Commercial Litigation Practice Group, which numbers more than 150 lawyers. He focuses his practice on class actions and complex commercial matters, including communications, securities and corporate governance, products liability and bankruptcy.
Barry Gross, a former assistant U.S. attorney known for his prosecutions of organized crime and racketeering in Pennsylvania, is joining Drinker Biddle as a partner in the firm's white-collar crime and corporate investigations practice group. Mr. Gross was with the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania since 1983.
Most recently at the U.S. Attorney's Office, Mr. Gross was lead counsel in the investigation and racketeering trial of the hierarchy of the Philadelphia La Cosa Nostra family. Other high-profile cases that Mr. Gross led include an extensive investigation into the Philadelphia Housing Authority that resulted in the conviction of 12 former high-ranking officials and seven contractors on charges of extortion , bid-rigging and other charges.
