Cozen O'Connor has announced the formation of a government relations practice group to assist clients in creating and implementing strategies to address the impact of policy decisions on business, help clients explore and enhance business opportunities with government entities and resolve conflicts that might arise out of government-related dealings at the federal, state, and local levels.
The group will initially concentrate its government relations practice in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, states where the firm has particularly strong transactional practices and significant experience working with government officials and agencies.
Cozen O'Connor's government relations group will be co-chaired by Jeffrey L. Nash and Raymond B. Harding. Mr. Harding, who practices in Cozen O'Connor's midtown New York office, has been a senior political leader in the State of New York for many years and served in state government as a top aide to Governor Hugh L. Carey and on numerous boards and commissions. Nash, who has been practicing from the firm's Cherry Hill and Trenton New Jersey offices, is the vice chairman of the Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) and a Camden County Freeholder.
Among other things, the firm will represent clients in all aspects of the government procurement process including proposing initiatives, responding to RFP and bid solicitations, and resolving disputes; participate in the public policy process on behalf of clients; represent clients in regulatory interpretation and compliance matters; provide advice and guidance in connection with economic development and other government incentive programs, and address discretionary government action that affects clients' interest.
