The international law firm Gianni, Origoni, Grippo & Partners has announced the opening of its new office in Brussels.
Mario Todino, former official of the Directorate General for Competition of the EC Commission, is the newly hired resident lawyer for the Brussels office. He will lead a team of four lawyers.
The Brussels office will provide the firm's clients with legal advice in EC competition law (mergers, cartels, state aids, regulatory), and other crucial areas of EC law, such as public procurement, the internal market, intellectual property and environment.
Mr. Todino has more than 15 years of experience in the field of EC merger control law and practice, which he has acquired by working for six years in the merger network of DG COMP. He is an expert in competition, public procurement, internal market, and litigation.
Mr. Todino has been one of the members of DG COMP merger review team in charge of the reform of the EC merger regulation in 2004 and a member of DG COMP working group for the review of the commission policy in the field of article 82.
The opening marks the law firm's 9th office worldwide.
