Proskauer Rose LLP has announced that Paul Salvatore and Lawrence R. Sandak, partners in the firm's Labor and Employment Law Department, were inducted into the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers as Fellows.
The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers is a non-profit professional association that honors leading lawyers in the practice of labor and employment law and strives to promote achievement, advancement and excellence in the practice while providing a forum for discussion and collegiality among its Fellows.
Mr. Salvatore is a partner in Proskauer's New York office, representing employers in all types of employment litigation, arbitration and mediation, providing advice and guidance that includes counseling employers on how to avoid litigation and achieve their employee relations objectives through techniques such as proactive human resources policies and alternative dispute resolution.
Mr. Sandak is a partner based in Proskauer's Newark, New Jersey office and has more than 20 years of employment law experience as a trial lawyer and civil litigator. He defends employers accused of discrimination, retaliation, sexual harassment, breach of contract, and wage and hour violations before courts and government agencies.
Mr. Salvatore and Mr. Sandak join several other Proskauer attorneys who have been named Fellows of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers including Allen I. Fagin, Howard Ganz, Lawrence Lorber, Kathleen McKenna, Bettina Plevan, Howard Shapiro, Arthur Silbergeld and Allan Weitzman.
Proskauer partner Robert Kaufman has been awarded the Positive Voice Award by The Alliance for National Defense (AND), an organization dedicated to serving women in the military, for his service to the military and the United States as an advocate and champion of the advancement and achievement of women in the military.
Ten lawyers from Proskauer's Boston office have been recognized in the 2006 edition of Massachusetts Super Lawyers, an annual guidebook that highlights the top five percent of practicing attorneys in Massachusetts. In addition, Robin Painter, a leading private equity attorney, was honored by the publication as one of the Top 50 female attorneys in the state.
