Proskauer Rose LLP has announced that Timothy L. Porter, a veteran attorney with extensive experience in all types of labor and employment matters and government relations, has joined the firm as a senior labor and employment counsel. He was previously chief counsel for labor, employment and environment and vice president-law at AT&T, where he worked as an attorney for more than 20 years.
At AT&T, Mr. Porter was responsible for all of the company's domestic and international labor relations, employment, employee benefits, executive compensation and environmental law matters as well as collective bargaining negotiations, appearances before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and labor arbitrations.
Mr. Porter is the latest addition to Proskauer's Labor & Employment Law Department. In recent months, the firm has announced the additions of: Gregory Rasin and Elise Bloom, veteran employment and class action litigation attorneys who joined the New York office as partners; John Barry, an experienced employment attorney who joined the Newark office as partner, and Beverly Frank, a senior counsel in the Los Angeles office with extensive experience in labor and employment litigation in the entertainment industry.
Proskauer partner Robin Painter, co-chair of the firm's Private Investment Funds Group, has been named by Private Equity International magazine as one of the 30 most influential lawyers practicing in global private equity.
Ms. Painter, who is based in Proskauer's Boston office, has more than twenty years of experience in the private equity field.
