Nixon Peabody Creates PositionOf General Counsel In Residence

Michael Garrett recently joined the firm of Nixon Peabody LLP with the newly created title of general counsel in residence.

In the post-Sarbanes-Oxley/Sentencing Guidelines era, general counsels of law firm clients have seen marked increases in their legal authority and responsibility. As general counsel in residence, Mr. Garrett will educate and sensitize firm partners to the preferences, priorities and agendas of the general counsels of their clients, meet with the general counsels of firm clients to ascertain and attempt to satisfy their needs in terms of scope of services and quality of relationship with Nixon Peabody, and design and participate in proposals and other marketing and legal education efforts.
