Akerman Senterfitt continues to grow in Tampa with the additions of L. Joseph Shaheen Jr., shareholder; Mitchell Robiner, of counsel, and Chaila Restall, associate, to the firm's Litigation practice. The three new attorneys join Akerman Senterfitt from Gardner Shaheen Tamargo.

Mr. Shaheen's practice focuses on complex litigation matters and regulatory investigations for local and national companies. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America 2007 for commercial litigation, and was selected in 2004 as one of Florida Trend's 'Florida Legal Elite' in the area of Business Litigation and Business Law.

Mr. Robiner's practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, with an emphasis on creditor's rights.

Ms. Restall served as Assistant State Attorney with the Sixth Judicial Circuit prior to joining Gardner Shaheen Tamargo.

Akerman Senterfitt's healthcare practice represented ICORE Healthcare LLC in its acquisition by Magellan Health Services Inc. The acquisition involved a $210,000,000 purchase price plus up to an additional $75,000,000 of earn-out consideration. ICORE will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Magellan Health Services with the ICORE management team remaining intact, to continue to provide services to its expanding customer base.

Akerman Senterfitt has represented ICORE, a specialty pharmaceutical management firm headquartered in Orlando, Florida, since its inception approximately three years ago.

The Akerman Senterfitt legal team included Marshall Burack, shareholder in Akerman Senterfitt's Miami office and lead attorney in the deal, shareholders Alan Lederman on tax issues, Jenna Rassif on employment issues, and Larry Silverman on Hart-Scott-Rodino issues, consultant Jon Rawlson on regulatory matters, and associate Erick Marin on general support.
