Ballard Spahr Opens Las Vegas Office

Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll, LLP has announced the opening of its new Las Vegas office and the election of three new partners, including Las Vegas legal community leaders William P. Curran and Stanley W. Parry who were name partners of Curran & Parry. Joining Curran and Parry in this transaction are partner Josh Reisman, of counsel Susan Johnson and associate Maren Parry. Mr. Curran will serve as the Las Vegas office's managing partner.

Mr. Curran and Mr. Parry are widely recognized as two of the major leaders of the Las Vegas Bar.Mr. Curran was county counsel for Clark County from 1979 to 1989, served as chairman of the Nevada Gaming Commission from 1991 to 1999 and is a former president of the State Bar of Nevada.Mr. Parry served as a legal advisor to the Clark County Planning Commission from 1980-1983 and as a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice Organized Crime Strike Force from 1983 - 1989.Stan is widely recognized as one of Las Vegas's leading commercial litigators.

The new Las Vegas office will focus initially on serving clients in five main areas: resorts and hotels, including gaming; real estate development, including land use/zoning; public finance; business and finance, and litigation.

Eric Diaz, former corporate counsel to several subsidiaries of GMAC Commercial Holding Corporation (now known as Capmark Financial Group Inc.), has joined the Real Estate Department of Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll, LLP as of counsel in the firm's Philadelphia office.

Before joining Ballard, Mr. Diaz served as corporate counsel to GMAC Commercial Mortgage Corporation, whose Global Service Division manages one of the world's largest loan servicing portfolios.
