Ballard Spahr's McClure Wins 40 Under 40 Award

Matthew N. McClure, senior associate in the Real Estate Department at Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll, LLP, has been honored by the Philadelphia Business Journal as one of the recipients of the publication's '40 Under 40'awards. The awards, which recognize the Delaware Valley's most accomplished and well-rounded young leaders in their respective professional fields and business communities, will be presented at a ceremony on May 2 at the Sheraton Society Hill Hotel in Philadelphia.

Mr. McClure counsels numerous developers, non-profits and universities in connection with a full range of real estate matters.

Former Pennsylvania Attorney General Jerry Pappert, currently a partner at Ballard Spahr, was a featured speaker at a symposium for the National State Attorneys General Program in February at Columbia Law School in New York City.

Mr. Pappert was lead trial and appellate counsel in the Pennsylvania Attorney General Office's successful effort to block the sale of Hershey Foods in 2002. His presentation focused on the Hershey case and served as the opening presentation at the symposium dedicated to examining State Attorney General oversight and regulation of charitable institutions.

John P. Lavelle, Jr., a partner in the Litigation Department and partner-in-charge of the Product Liability and Mass Tort Group at Ballard Spahr, was recently accepted as a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC). Mr. Lavelle's litigation practice includes product liability, complex commercial litigation, class actions, intellectual property litigation and election law.
