Connell Foley LLP has announced the debut of its Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Law & Regulation Weblog. The site can be accessed at http://www.connellfoley.com/hselaw/. With a focus on federal, New Jersey and New York laws and regulations, it will cover developments pertaining to health & safety, construction, environment, homeland & chemical security, land use, waste management, and product stewardship.
The HSE Law Weblog will be maintained by Steve Barnett and David Mairo. Mr. Barnett is an experienced litigator who practiced as a professional engineer and certified industrial hygienist prior to attending law school.
Mr. Mairo specializes in environmental law, including compliance with the Industrial Site Recovery Act and Bureau of Underground Storage Tank (BUST) regulations, as administered by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
Connell Foley has announced that partner Liza M. Walsh has been chosen by NJBizas one of New Jersey's Best 50 Women in Business. Ms. Walsh will be featured in the March 27 issue of the magazine. In determining their selections, NJBiz editors selected candidates who have excelled in their profession; demonstrated a commitment to their community, and have advocated for the professional growth of women.
Ms. Walsh joined Connell Foley in 1986 and currently is a partner, chair of the firm's Finance Committee, a member of both the firm's Management and Executive committees, chair of the Intellectual Property Litigation practice group and leader of the firm's federal practice litigation team.
Connell Foley has announced that counsel Steve Barnett has been elected chairman of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Region II /New Jersey Industry Communication Alliance (NJICA). In March 2002, OSHA and the member organizations entered into this Alliance Program.
