Two Jorden Burt AttorneysNamed Among Connecticut Super Lawyers

Super Lawyers Magazine has named Jorden Burt partners Diane Duhaime and James M. Sconzo as 2006 Connecticut Super Lawyers. In addition, Mr. Sconzo was named one of the Top 50 Lawyers in the state.

Ms. Duhaime focuses her practice in the areas of intellectual property and technology law and is chair of Jorden Burt's Intellectual Property and Technology practice team. She is an active member of several local and nationalbar associations, and has authored a number of published works and is a frequent speaker on a variety of technology and intellectual property law subjects.

Mr. Sconzo focuses on labor and employment law. He is co-chair of the firm's Tax, ERISA & Employment practice team. Mr. Sconzo is editor of the Connecticut Employment Law Letter, which is a monthly publication subscribed to by over 700 businesses. He is a special master of the U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut, and is a founding member of the Employers Counsel Network.

Jorden Burt has announced that Christopher G. Barnes, W. Glenn Merten and Michael A. Valerio have been elected partners of the firm. The partnership became effective January 1. Mr. Barnes (Connecticut office), focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation in state and federal court on behalf of insurance companies and other financial institution clients. Mr. Merten (Washington, DC office), focuses his practice on class actions, complex litigation, administrative proceedings, and alternate dispute resolution in numerous areas, including consumer fraud claims, unfair trade practices, broker-dealer and investment disputes, employee benefits litigation, health care litigation, insurance coverage and employment law. Mr. Valerio (Connecticut office), focuses on a broad range of complex litigation and securities enforcement matters.
