The international law firm of Chadbourne & Parke LLP announced recently that Laura Hegedus has been named counsel in the tax practice group, resident in the firm's Washington, DC office.
Ms. Hegedus has more than a dozen years of diverse experience in public and private securities offerings, hybrid securities, derivatives and investment units, large cross-border corporate mergers and acquisitions, and international tax planning for U.S. multinational corporations. Her expertise includes advising issuers, underwriters, investment managers and lenders in a wide range of capital markets activities.
Chadbourne & Parke recently represented Cyrus Reinsurance Holdings SPC, a Cayman Island exempted segregated portfolio company (Holdings) and its wholly owned subsidiary, Cyrus Reinsurance Limited, a Bermuda reinsurance company (Cyrus Re) in connection with their formation and initial capitalization. The deal closed in December 2005.
Working on the deal for Chadbourne were partners Morton Grosz, Bruce Rader, Philip Colbran and William Cavanagh in the New York office and Carey Child in the Washington, DC office. Also working on the deal were associates Shane de Burca, Joseph Giannini, Dorothy Wisniowski and Randolph Hunter.
