Connell Foley LLP recently announced that Clarence Smith Jr.has joined the firm as partner in its Roseland, NJ office. Mr. Smith brings to the firm expertise in immigration law and homeland security.
Previously, Mr. Smith served as assistant chief counsel to the United States Department of Homeland Security. While there, he litigated the immigration laws of the United States on behalf of the department; represented the department in exclusion, deportation, removal, and rescission proceedings; provided counsel to the department's operating units, and represented the department in civil document fraud cases.
Mr. Smith is an arbitrator for the National Association of Securities Dealers, where he arbitrates disputes relating to the securities industry between public customers and their brokers, as well as intra-industry disputes between member firms and their associated persons.
