Cozen O'Connor recently announced the opening of its Santa Fe, N.M., office, located at 125 Lincoln Avenue, Suite 400. The Santa Fe office opening is a strategic response to the litigation needs of the firm's southwestern client base and is the firm's 24th office worldwide. Harvey Fruman, a 15-year veteran of Cozen O'Connor, will return to the New Mexico legal community where he practiced for more than 20 years to lead the Santa Fe office's insurance and commercial litigation efforts.
A former member of the firm's San Diego office, Mr. Fruman has also maintained a private practice and held several positions for the state of New Mexico, including judge for the New Mexico Court of Appeals, assistant attorney general and general counsel to the governor of New Mexico. He is currently a member of the New Mexico Code of Judicial Conduct Committee, the New Mexico Appellate Rules Committee and the American Judges Association, where he served one year as the New Mexico delegate.
Cozen O'Connor recently announced that Rafael Perez, a member in the firm's Newark, NJ office, has been named co-chair of the public and project finance practice group. Mr. Perez concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate law, financial services and public and project finance. He has been involved in a wide variety of public finance projects, acting as bond counsel, underwriter's counsel, trustee's counsel and borrower's counsel. He has represented investment banks, corporations organized under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, for-profit corporations, cities, townships, boroughs, states and their agencies and authorities, and corporations and financial institutions in transactional and general corporate matters in the United States, Mexico and South America.
Veenita B. Bleznak recently joined Cozen's West Conshohocken (PA) office as a member in the business law department. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Bleznak was director and general counsel at Context Advisors, LLC in Bala Cynwyd, PA. Bleznak represents companies in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, venture capital financings, equity and debt offerings, bank financings, joint ventures, licensing arrangements and general corporate matters. She has had experience advising start-ups and has also been involved in all aspects of managing private equity funds, from raising capital and fund formation to making investments.
