In a move to strengthen and grow the American Arbitration Association's (AAA) mediation service offerings, William K. Slate II, AAA's president and CEO, recently announced the appointment of 20-year AAA veteran Neil Carmichael to the newly-created position of vice president, U.S. and international mediation services.
In his new role, Mr. Carmichael will be responsible for overseeing the AAA's mediation strategy and operations domestically and globally. This will include developing policies and priorities for the AAA's mediation-related activities, managing the AAA's relationship with the mediators on its Roster of Neutrals, as well as overseeing mediation-related rules and procedures development, case management and business development activities, online services, training, education, and marketing.
Mr. Carmichael served as vice president of training and development for nine years, and was involved with education and training of arbitrators, mediators, AAA staff, and AAA users. His earlier AAA positions included regional vice president and case manager, both in Charlotte, NC.
AAA also recently announced the appointment of Chauncey Davis to the position of center vice president for the AAA's Southeast Case Management Center.
The AAA's Southeast Case Management Center was established in Atlanta in 1997. It is one of four commercial case administration centers in the U.S., designed to provide fair, efficient, and consistent service of the highest quality in a centralized AAA facility.
