"Ben has been constant and generous in supporting and promoting the administrative services and the educational programs of the association," said AAA President William K. Slate II in presenting the award. "He is always candid, graciously direct, and constructive in helping us to build positive and pertinent models that users - including his clients - can benefit from."

In accepting the award, Mr. Picker stated that he was doing so "on behalf of all of the association's directors whose efforts have been a labor of love." He cited as examples of the association's cutting-edge approach in alternative dispute resolution: its efforts in Europe, its guidance to corporations designing employment-ADR programs, its management of class-action arbitrations and an exciting new initiative in mediation. Picker concluded by thanking his Stradley Ronon colleagues for permitting him the time to devote his efforts to ADR and for embracing ADR on a firmwide basis.
