King & Spalding Wins $30 Million Verdict For Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman Developer

King & Spalding LLP successfully represented Humphreys (Cayman) Limited, developer of The Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman, in a breach of contract action against Fluor Daniel Caribbean, Inc. and Fluor Enterprises, Inc. in a three-week jury trial in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Humphreys was awarded $28.8 million, plus interest, legal fees and costs.

King & Spalding's trial team consisted of partners Dwight J. Davis, Edward G. Kehoe and John W. Hinchey.

King & Spalding represented Sprint in its agreement with US Unwired, Inc. for Sprint to acquire US Unwired for approximately $1.3 billion.The acquisition is subject to customary regulatory approvals and is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2005.
