Pitney Hardin attorney Jeffrey S. Mandel recently received the Young Lawyer of the Year Award from the Young Lawyer's Division of the New Jersey State Bar Association at the organization's annual meeting in Atlantic City.
The Young Lawyer of the Year designation is presented to a young lawyer whose personal and professional achievement merit special recognition and who has made unique community and public service contributions, has actively participated in the organized bar and has stood out in the area of professional knowledge, skill, integrity and courtesy.
At Pitney Hardin, Mr. Mandel concentrates his practice in complex tort litigation, personal injury law, contract law, criminal law and general litigation.
Beginning with service as a judicial clerk for Appellate Division Judge Donald G. Collester Jr., Mr. Mandel "developed powerful knowledge and experience in appellate practice and procedures," according to Anthony V. Locascio, who nominated his colleague for the award. He also served as an intern to retired Appellate Division Judges Charles E. Villaneuva and William A. Dreier.
The 2005 Young Lawyer of the Year is the author of New Jersey Appellate Practice, an instructive treatise on appellate rules, laws and procedures, to be published this year by Gann Law Books.
