Securities Litigator Joins Weil Gotshal

Prominent securities litigator Jonathan Polkes has joined the New York office of the firm of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP.

Mr. Polkes is part of an elite group of attorneys who handle both complex securities litigations and white collar and regulatory matters on behalf of the world's leading financial institutions and corporations. Mr. Polkes will complement and enhance Weil Gotshal's securities litigation practice.

Mr. Polkes, a former federal prosecutor who has conducted over 25 jury trials and argued 12 times before the United States Court of Appeals, has worked on virtually every major controversial issue to affect Wall Street in the past decade. He has advised his clients on controversies stemming from payments by insurance underwriters to insurance brokers; market timing and late trading investigations; allegations of conflicts of interests between investment banking and research departments, and the collapse of Enron, among many others.

Before entering private practice, Mr. Polkes was an assistant U.S. attorney in the Eastern District of New York
