The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in partnership with the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants and the American Immigration Lawyers Association, held a private reception in March, hosted by Holland & Knight LLP, to announce a new pro bono opportunity with the National Center for Refugee and Immigrant Children.
The reception in New York City featured a live video feed from Washington, DC with remarks by Angelina Jolie, UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador; the Hon. Sam Brownback, U.S. Senate; the Hon. Michael Creppy, Chief Immigration Judge; Howell W. Melton Jr., managing partner of Holland & Knight LLP, and Martha W. Barnett, a partner with Holland & Knight and former ABA President. The program was broadcast live to receptions in 20 cities.
