16 New Partners Elected At Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld

Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP has announced that 16 of the firm's lawyers have been elected to the partnership: in Austin, Michael J. Biles; in Dallas, Keith M. Aurzada, Joseph L. Motes III and Scott T. Williams; in Houston, Gregory V. Brown and Carlos A. Soléé III; in Los Angeles, Gregory W. Knopp; in New York, Wendy Friedman Dulman, Christopher M. Gorman-Evans, Mitchell P. Hurley and Bruce E. Simonetti; in Philadelphia, Kevin R. Hamel; in San Antonio, Wilhelm E. Liebmann and Thomas E. Sanders, and in Washington, Michael A. Fitzpatrick and Brian S. Gleicher.

Mr. Biles is a member of the firm's litigation practice. Mr. Biles concentrates on securities litigation in federal and state courts.

Mr. Aurzada is a member of the firm's financial restructuring practice. Mr. Aurzada represents secured lenders in cases involving commercial real estate, oil and gas, asset-backed and working capital transactions.

Mr. Motes is a member of the firm's corporate practice. He represents buyers and sellers in public and private mergers, acquisitions and dispositions, as well as issuers and underwriters in public securities offerings and private placements.

Mr. Williams is a member of the firm's litigation practice. Mr. Williams' practice focuses on complex commercial litigation and appeals.

Mr. Brown is a member of the firm's litigation practice. Mr. Brown's practice focuses on complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts as well as personal injury and employment litigation.

Mr. Soléé is a member of the firm's energy practice. Mr. Soléé concentrates on domestic and international energy transactions.

Mr. Knopp is a member of the firm's labor and employment practice. Mr. Knopp represents management in litigation matters involving discrimination claims, etc.

Ms. Dulman is a member of the firm's tax practice. She focuses on international and domestic transactions for private equity and major corporate clients, and on private equity fund formation, planning and implementation.

Mr. Gorman-Evans is a member of the firm's investment funds practice.

Mr. Hurley is a member of the firm's litigation practice. His clients include hedge funds, private equity funds and banks, broadcast companies, telecommunications companies and committees of unsecured creditors in bankruptcy.

Mr. Simonetti is a member of the firm's executive compensation and ERISA practice.

Mr. Hamel is a member of the firm's intellectual property litigation practice. His practice focuses primarily on patent litigation relating to complex technologies.

Mr. Liebmann is a member of the firm's corporate practice. His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private and public debt and equity financings, public offerings, exchange offers, consent solicitations, periodic SEC filings, joint ventures and general contract negotiations.

Mr. Sanders is a member of the firm's litigation practice. His practice focuses on civil litigation matters, including first-party insurance matters, complex insurance coverage matters, reinsurance disputes, Lanham Act and unfair advertising claims, consumer class actions, securities claims and ERISA litigation.

Mr. Fitzpatrick is a member of the firm's litigation practice. His practice focuses on litigation, white collar criminal defense, congressional investigations, and regulatory law and policy.
