The Somerville, NJ-based law firm of Norris McLaughlin & Marcus, P.A. has announced that members of another Somerville firm, Schacter, Trombodore, Offen & Stanton, P.A., have joined the firm effective January 1.
Richard J. Schacter, Stephen M. Offen, Michael J. Stanton, Timothy P. McKeown and Jerry S. D'Aniello have joined Norris McLaughlin as members of the firm.
Although the merger is effective January 1, the Schacter attorneys will remain at their current offices at 45 East High Street, Somerville for several months.
Mr. Schacter focuses his practice on civil and commercial litigation. Mr. Offen concentrates his practice on business litigation, corporate law, real estate and business law. Mr. Stanton devotes his practice to all aspects of matrimonial law. Mr. McKeown concentrates his practice on civil and commercial litigation, real estate and bankruptcy matters. Mr. Aniello focuses his practice on family and matrimonial law.
Norris McLaughlin also has announced that Annemarie Simeone and Linda A. Tancs have been named members of the firm.
Ms. Simeone joined Norris McLaughlin in October 1995. She devotes her practice to commercial litigation, with an emphasis on various aspects of labor and employment litigation in both state and federal court.
Ms. Tancs joined the firm as an associate in February 2000. She counsels clients in trademark, copyright and e-commerce matters.
The Hon. William A. Dreier, a Norris McLaughlin partner, has been elected president of the Retired Judges Association of New Jersey for a one-year term.
Judge Dreier heads the firm's worldwide products liability practice, as well as supervising commercial litigation, mediation and arbitration. He is considered a national expert in the area of products liability and toxic tort law. He has authored New Jersey Products Liability and Toxic Tort Law (Gann Law Books), which has been published annually since 1977.
