Former PresidentialAdviser Rejoins Nixon Peabody LLP

Richard L. Morningstar, a former U.S. Ambassador to the European Union and adviser to the president and the State Department during the Clinton Administration, has joined the Boston office of the national law firm Nixon Peabody LLP as Senior Counsel and will be a member of the firm's Business Practice Group.

Having had a distinguished career in international affairs, law, government, and business, Mr. Morningstar served as the president's representative to the European Union on all policy issues. He also served as special adviser to the president and the secretary of state on issues related to assistance to the former Soviet Union and on the development of oil and gas resources in the Caspian Basin. In addition, he was senior vice president of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), a U.S. government agency dedicated to helping U.S. businesses invest overseas.
