Two Experienced LitigatorsJoin Torys LLP As Partners

Lauren Reiter Brody and Frances K. Browne, two experienced litigators who focus on employment and entertainment law, have joined Torys LLP as partners.


"Lauren Brody and Fran Browne enhance our litigation practice in significant ways," said Charles E. (Trip) Dorkey III, the firm's New York managing partner. "Their many years of combined experience as commercial litigators, focusing on the entertainment industry and employment law, strengthen and expand Torys capabilities and will serve our clients well."


Ms. Brody and Ms. Browne join Torys from Katten Muchin Zavis Rosenman in New York, where they had been partners.


Ms. Brody focuses her practice in litigation, with a concentration on employment and entertainment litigation. She brings extensive experience in general commercial litigation involving corporate, contract, partnership and real estate law.She is an associate editor of the book Negotiation and Drafting Contract Boilerplate (2003), and is completing work on a second book, Hiring and Firing.


Ms. Browne practices employment law, and has extensive experience in matters involving race, national origin, sex, age, pregnancy, and disability at the federal, state and local level.She also focuses on litigation and dispute resolution, entertainment litigation, and appellate practice.


Ms. Browne is an adjunct professor of law at Fordham University Law School and has taught constitutional law at Rutgers University. Along with Ms. Brody, she is an associate editor of the book Negotiation and Drafting Contract Boilerplate, and a co-author of Hiring and Firing.
