Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP (Vorys), headquartered in Columbus, OH, has been ranked as one of the top law firms in the world in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions for the first quarter of 2004. The firm ranks 23rd among U.S. and international law firms including top firms in New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, London and Frankfurt.
The ranking was issued by Global Securities Information (GSI) in Washington, DC, which tracks securities information and research worldwide. GSI rankings are based on the total transaction value of mergers and acquisitions and are reviewed each quarter.
Vorys represents buyers and sellers in corporate acquisitions, divestitures and reorganizations of public and private companies. The firm also has represented management, outside directors and lenders in executing private transactions and leveraged buyouts.

GSI reported that Vorys's two M&A transactions for the first quarter 2004 had a total transaction value of more than $1.5 billion. The GSI rankings include all transactions registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission that have completion dates that fall within the specified time period for the quarterly report and that result in a change of control. Dollar amounts are estimated transaction values as disclosed by the filing party.
