Peter B. Ajalat has joined the firm of Grotta, Glassman & Hoffman, P.A. (GG&H) in the position of Of Counsel. Mr. Ajalat's practice focuses on all aspects of traditional labor law, which includes all manner of counseling and advice, administrative proceedings and litigation arising within that context.
As the former general counsel of a large New York City Teamsters Union, Mr. Ajalat brings a wealth of experience in single and multi-employer labor negotiations, coordinated bargaining, grievances and labor arbitrations, contract administration, NLRB elections, unit clarification petitions, unfair labor practice proceedings, secondary boycotts and strikes, and the contractual, statutory and pragmatic issues arising within the context of mergers, acquisitions, relocations, and reorganizations.
Mr. Ajalat is well versed in federal and New York and New Jersey labor regulatory statutes, such as wage and hour laws, OSHA and FMLA, and their applications within a unionized framework. Mr. Ajalat has served as counsel to Taft-Hartley multi-employer pension and welfare benefit plans, and has extensive experience with the full panoply of benefit issues arising with regard to such plans.
