Holland & Knight Partner Jorge L. Hernandez-Toraño has been named chairman of the Miami Business Forum, a 30-year-old organization of civic and corporate leaders dedicated to promoting social welfare and enhancing civic life in Miami Dade County. He assumes the chairmanship from Joe Lacher, president of BellSouth Florida, who chaired the Forum for 28 months and will continue to serve as a member of the Forum's Executive Committee.
Mr. Hernandez-Toraño chairs the corporate practice of Holland & Knight's Miami office and the firm's national entertainment practice. He holds the highest rating assigned by Martindale-Hubbell. In 1999, Mr. Hernandez-Toraño was recognized by Hispanic Business Magazine as one of the 100 most influential Hispanics in the United States. He is an active member of The Florida Bar and is a past president of the Cuban American Bar Association.
The Miami Business Forum meets regularly to discuss social and civic issues affecting Miami Dade and to identify how the business community can positively impact on these issues, as well how these issues can positively impact the business community.
