The firm of Grotta, Glassman & Hoffman, P.A. has strengthened its New York presence by adding three principals from Rains & Pogrebin, P.C., a 56-year-old labor and employment law firm based on Long Island, which is dissolving.

The three new principals are Bertrand B. Pogrebin, a founder of Rains & Pogrebin, Bruce Millman, managing partner, and John Bauer, a member of its executive committee.

By joining forces with Grotta Glassman, the Rains & Pogrebin attorneys will be reuniting with Craig Benson and David Wirtz, former R&P partners who joined Grotta Glassman about two years ago.

Grotta Glassman has opened a new office at 532 Broadhollow Road in Melville, NY to serve its Long Island-based clients. Mr. Bauer will head that office. Mr. Pogrebin and Mr. Millman will reside both in the New York City office of the firm at 650 Fifth Avenue and in the Long Island office.

Mr. Pogrebin has through the depth and breadth of his practice become an institution on Long Island. He advises public and private sector employers on labor relations issues such as compliance with the National Labor Relations Act, union negotiations, labor arbitration and long-term workforce strategies including plant moves, mergers and acquisitions.

Mr. Millman has nearly 30 years experience counseling private and public sector employers on business and personal strategies.

Mr. Bauer has more than 17 years of experience representing and advising employers in all aspects of labor and employment law.
