Dealmaker Joins Lowenstein Sandler

Ray Thek, a prominent dealmaker, has joined the firm of Lowenstein Sandler, PC as a director, effective March 1.

Mr. Thek's hiring gives Lowenstein Sandler another powerful corporate attorney who specializes in technology and life sciences deals. He joins directors Peter H. Ehrenberg, chair of the firm's 60-lawyer Corporate Department, and Edward M. Zimmerman, chair of the firm's 40-lawyer Tech Group.


Lowenstein partner Douglas Eakeley will receive the Chairman's Award at the NJN (New Jersey Network) Foundation Gala on May 24. Mr. Eakley is a founding member of the Foundation Board of Trustees. Elected in 1992, he currently serves as vice chair of the Board and chair of the Planning Committee. A former Rhodes Scholar and former first assistant attorney general for New Jersey, Mr. Eakeley specializes in complex commercial litigation. In 1993, President Clinton appointed Mr. Eakeley to the Board of Directors of the Legal Services Corporation, which he chaired until last spring.
