Christopher C. Loeber, a prominent litigator who represents Fortune 500 and other large corporate policyholders in a broad range of complex insurance disputes, has joined the Insurance Coverage practice as a partner in McCarter & English’s Newark office.

For 15 years, Loeber has helped policyholders secure from insurers the coverage for which they paid premiums. He possesses a deep understanding of how insurance companies underwrite policies, value claims, and approach lawsuits, and he has successfully obtained coverage for policyholders in matters involving virtually every type of insurance issue, including property damage and business interruption, recall and contamination, products liability, directors and officers, fiduciary liability, and corporate-owned life insurance. Loeber’s client base encompasses a broad range of industries, from food and beverage, oil and gas, and chemical manufacturers to retailers, life sciences companies, and financial services organizations.

Sherilyn Pastor, head of the firm’s Insurance Coverage group, said, “Chris’ extensive insurance experience will be invaluable to policyholder clients. Chris adds to our already significant capabilities in core sectors, including coverage for the food and beverage industries, and coverage for environmental liabilities.”

“Our top-ranked Insurance Coverage group is further strengthened with Chris' joining. Our policyholder client base will be well-served by the depth and experience Chris brings,” said Chairman Michael P. Kelly.

Chris is a graduate of Fordham University School of Law. Before joining McCarter, he was a partner in the Insurance Recovery group at Lowenstein Sandler.
