Friday, June 17, 2016 - 16:47

Herrick is very pleased to welcome Stephen C. Jacobs to the firm, as partner and co-chair of our Corporate Department.

Stephen is a senior hedge fund and private equity fund executive, and former corporate partner and associate for three Am Law 100 law firms.

He joins us from the distressed credit and real estate hedge fund and private equity fund Spectrum Group Management, where he served as chief operating officer, general counsel and chief compliance officer.

Stephen will continue in these roles at Spectrum, in addition to co-chairing our Corporate Department.

Stephen's significant fund experience spans a variety of asset classes and industries, including commercial real estate, media, entertainment, telecommunications and technology. His arrival strengthens our transactional and private investment fund capabilities in those areas, as well as our ability to form and advise funds in several other Herrick practice areas, including real estate, art and sports.

Prior to joining Spectrum, Stephen was a corporate partner at Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP, where he advised private equity and hedge fund managers in the real estate and TMT sectors. Before that, he spent eight years in senior operating positions at portfolio companies of the private equity funds Quadrangle Group and Wasserstein & Co. Previously, Stephen was assistant general counsel at AIG, where he was responsible for all domestic mergers and acquisitions, and an attorney in private practice.
