WASHINGTON, D.C. (January 20, 2016) – iDiscovery Solutions, Inc. (iDS), an award-‐winning, legal technology and information governance expert services firm, announced today that CEO Dan Regard co-‐ authored a key chapter in the recently released Electronic Discovery Institute’s (EDI) Federal Judges’ Guide to Discovery, Edition 2.0. Chapter 11, “Format of Production,” written by Mr. Regard and Mr. David Kessler, Partner at Norton Rose Fulbright, covers the continuing issues surrounding production formatting, key formats and terminologies, and an overview of the law, choices, and popular arguments from both sides.

In the chapter, Mr. Regard and Mr. Kessler discuss why disputes surrounding the format of production are still all too common today, why some believe only native format should be considered “reasonably useable,” proper organization and formatting of production, and a closer look at Rule 34 and considerations when interpreting its key points.

The book is meant as an A to Z guide covering the unique challenges discovery presents in today’s litigation world.  Following the leadership of Editor in Chief Robert D. Owen and Executive Editor Patrick Oot, there are 13 unique chapters which include “Proportionality and the 2015 Amendments to the Federal Rules,” “26(g): The Standard of Care When Responding to Discovery,” “The Use of Advanced Technologies in Document Review,” and “Forensics in Civil Litigation.”

“This book represents guidance from some of the most respected thought leaders in discovery today,” said Mr. Regard. “Moreover, the editorial process included a degree of peer review not often seen in other mainstream publications, as well as a draft review by a sizable group of judges. The final product is a great primer for anyone seeking to start, continue, or advance their role in the discovery process.”

Mr. Regard is a nationally recognized electronic evidence and case management expert with more than 20 years’ experience consulting to legal and corporate entities.
