Colom, Kendrick, Landman and Skeat Named Partners

Benesch is pleased to announce proud to announce that Kiamesha-Sylvia G. Colom, Thomas Y. (Ty) Kendrick, David A. Landman and Kelly J. Skeat have been named partners of the firm.

Kiamesha Colom (Indianapolis) has been named a partner in the firm’s Real Estate & Environmental Practice Group. She focuses her practice in the areas of real estate transactions, real estate lending and C&I loan documentation and related business transactions. Kiamesha works on the acquisition and disposition of real estate and assists clients with lease negotiations. She has experience with large sale-leaseback transactions, large lease summary review projects and opinion work as well.  Kiamesha has a specialized knowledge of  SBA and USDA lending and closes these types of credit facilities along with conventional commercial loans for commercial lenders. As a closing attorney, Kiamesha reviews, prepares, negotiates, analyzes, drafts agreements and other business documents, and confers with in-house counsel, borrowers and loan processors. Her extensive base of knowledge covers an array of commercial loan types, including government guaranteed lending, asset-based line of credits, term loans, real estate transactions and construction loans. Ty Kendrick (Columbus) has been named a partner in the firm’s 3iP (Innovations, Information Technology & Intellectual Property) Practice Group. He focuses his practice on preparing and prosecuting patent and trademark applications. A significant portion of his practice is dedicated to preparing patent opinions, including clearance opinions, noninfringement opinions, invalidity opinions, freedom to operate opinions and patentability opinions. Ty is experienced in the procurement of patents, from the time of invention disclosure up through issuance. His patent prosecution experience includes such technology areas as structural component engineering, tire mechanics and design, medical devices, tools, and household wares. He has experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications related to automotive engine technology and vehicle accessories. David Landman (Cleveland) David has been named a partner in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation. He has represented clients in federal and state court on a broad range of matters at both the trial and appellate level. David’s experience includes business and securities litigation, accounting malpractice defense, false advertising and counterfeit Lanham Act cases, internal investigations, director and officer liability defense and First Amendment matters.
