Jones Day has been named a recipient of the American Bar Association's 2015 Pro Bono Publico Award for its pro bono work. In granting the award to the firm, the ABA cited Jones Day's assistance to women with children and unaccompanied children seeking refuge in the United States from violence in Central America. Jones Day sent teams of lawyers to military bases where immigrants were held and conducted “Know your Rights” presentations to help screen cases. Attorneys also worked on a pro bono basis at detention facilities in New Mexico and Texas. The ABA noted that the firm has dedicated nearly 10,000 hours to the project. More information on the firm's work on this important project is available here.

The ABA also recognized Jones Day for its efforts in creating a guide covering the legal recognition of same sex relationships throughout the world. The guide is free to anyone and provides valuable information for employers and any same-sex couple traveling or relocating to any country in the world. The guide was recently recognized by Chambers USA in awarding the firm its inaugural excellence in diversity award.
