Fish & Richardson has announced that its Patent Prosecution and Patent Litigation practices have received top national rankings in the 2015 edition of IAM Patent 1000: The World’s Leading Patent Practitioners. IAM noted that, “from both a prosecution and litigation standpoint, Fish & Richardson really delivers” and that the firm is a “trustworthy ally in high-risk cases” and “one of the only firms that has numerous talented lawyers manning the litigation department.” Fish’s offices in California, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, and Texas also received top rankings in the guide.

IAM commended Fish’s “wealth of post-grant and appellate know-how” and how “litigators take a personal interest in their matters and are very hands on.”  “One of the clear advantages of engaging Fish is gaining access, for any given task, to a team of individuals cherry-picked from across its office network. It frequently acts in game-changing disputes on the world stage, racking up victories for a string of household names. They give well-reasoned legal advice that takes into account the commercial big picture.”

According to IAM, “Nobody can dispute that Fish & Richardson is deep in resources and full of hardworking and fiendishly smart people.” This explains why 30 Fish attorneys were singled out as “leading patent practitioners” including: Gwilym Attwell, James Babineau, Edmond Bannon, Samuel Borodach, Dr. Jack Brennan, Juanita Brooks, Joseph Colaianni, Ruffin Cordell, John Dragseth, Timothy French, J. Kevin Gray, Christopher Green, John Hayden, David Healey, Lawrence Kolodney, Phyllis Kristal, Dr. Stuart Macphail, William Marsden Jr., Douglas McCann, Michael McKeon, Thomas Melsheimer, Frank Porcelli, Thomas Reger II, W. Karl Renner, Timothy Riffe, Stephen Schaefer, Frank Scherkenbach, Jonathan Singer, Terry Stalford and Dorothy Whelan.

The IAM Patent 1000 is a guide to the top patent professionals in key jurisdictions around the globe. Based on interviews with almost 1,500 attorneys at law firms, patent attorneys, and in-house counsel, individuals qualify for a listing when they receive sufficient positive feedback from peers and clients with knowledge of their practice and the market within which they operate.  According to IAM, “only those individuals identified by market sources for their exceptional skill sets and profound insights into patent matters feature in the IAM Patent 1000.”
