Gibbons P.C. is pleased to announce that David W. Opderbeck has joined the firm as the newest member of the Gibbons Data Privacy and Security Task Force.

For the past eight years, Mr. Opderbeck has been an associate professor of Law at Seton Hall University School of Law. He also serves as the director of the Gibbons Institute of Law, Science & Technology at Seton Hall Law. In his role as director of Gibbons Institute, he is responsible for overseeing the Law School’s intellectual property programs and curriculum for JD, LLM and MSJ students. He also ensures the establishment and growth of relationships with the external Advisory Board, along with executing various programs for the students and continuing education programs for the bench and bar.

Mr. Opderbeck’s interest in cybersecurity law and policy resulted in a multi-year grant-funded project at Seton Hall University School of Law, sponsored by the Bergen County, New Jersey Prosecutor’s Office, which included new courses, continuing legal education programs, and the creation of a governmental working group on cybersecurity and cybercrime.
