Weil Represents Football Coach Jim Harbaugh in Contract Negotiations

Jeffrey Klein, chair of Weil’s Labor and Employment practice and partner in the firm’s New York office, represented football coach Jim Harbaugh in contract negotiations with the University of Michigan and the San Francisco 49ers, his former team.

The University of Michigan officially announced Mr. Harbaugh as the new head coach of its football program on December 30.

Mr. Harbaugh played quarterback at Michigan from 1983 to 1986 before his long NFL career. He becomes the sixth former Michigan player to be named the leader of college football’s winningest program. Mr. Harbaugh commented on his homecoming: “throughout my life I have dreamed of coaching at the University of Michigan. Now I have the honor to live it.”
