Bozena Diaz Joins Gibbons in the Corporate Department; Paolo Strino Joins Firm's IP Department

Gibbons P.C. is pleased to announce that Bozena (Bonnie) Diaz has joined the firm as an associate in the Corporate Department.

Ms. Diaz’s previous experience includes working as an associate in the Tax Department of Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP in New York, where she researched and analyzed a wide range of federal and state income tax issues related to various transactions and tax planning matters. Prior to that, she was a full-time law clerk in the Tax Department of Dewey Ballantine LLP in Washington D.C.


Gibbons is pleased to announce that Paolo Strino has joined the firm as a director in the Intellectual Property Department, expanding the international reach and depth of the firm's well-established intellectual property practice. He will be a resident in the firm’s New York office.

Drawing on 15 years of experience as in-house counsel at Alitalia North America and outside counsel (Pepper Hamilton and Lucas & Mercanti) both in the United States and Europe, Mr. Strino concentrates his practice in domestic and international trademark clearance and prosecution, trademark portfolio management, anticounterfeiting enforcement, and U.S. and multinational litigation. He represents clients in a broad array of industries ranging from chemical and pharmaceuticals, fashion, food and wine, media, entertainment, finance, insurance and tourism.

Mr. Strino is highly regarded in the field of opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, for all stages from discovery to trial. He is among the most experienced attorneys on geographic certification marks, having prosecuted many applications to register and maintain world-renowned indications of origin, including Prosecco Doc, Emilia, Asiago and Pecorino Romano.

Mr. Strino is also proficient in copyright registration and enforcement, trade dress protection, licensing and distribution, trademark dilution, false advertising, Internet and media law, domain name arbitration proceedings, technology transfer and other vendor agreements. He also regularly advises clients on general corporate matters with a special focus on international and cross-border transactions.
