Weil was ranked among the most innovative law firms in the 2014 FT Innovative Lawyers Report for Europe. The Firm was recognized in the categories of Dispute Resolution, Corporate & Commercial, and Client Service.

Weil was named a “Standout” firm in the Dispute Resolution category for successfully arguing for Littlewoods in a £1.2 billion claim against HM Revenue & Customs that compound interest should be applied to VAT overpayments. As cross-border disputes become more frequent and complex, this award highlights how original legal arguments and new ways of working bring results for clients.

Weil was named a “Commended” firm in the Corporate & Commercial category for advising Pharma Strategy Partners in its bid for Acino, the first Swiss private equity public-to-private transaction. Weil was also named a “Commended” firm in the Client Service category – which highlights the most imaginative strategies, programs, products and technologies deployed by law firms to improve client service – for designing a global toolkit for newly acquired portfolio companies to implement best practices.

The FT Innovative Lawyers Report for Europe, in partnership with RSG Consulting, ranks law firms that have brought original thinking and practices to business issues. The European report is now in its ninth year of publication.
