William Holder Joins Cornerstone Research As Senior Advisor

Cornerstone Research, a leading provider of economic and financial consulting and expert testimony, announced today that William W. Holder, dean of the Leventhal School of Accounting at the University of Southern California, has joined the firm as a senior advisor. He is also the Alan Casden Dean’s Chair and Professor of Accounting. Professor Holder has extensive experience as an expert witness in high-profile trials involving questions of accounting.

Professor Holder has served on several governance and standard-setting bodies for the accounting profession, including as a member of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB), on committees of the American Accounting Association, and on the Board of Directors (chair of the Audit Committee) of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA). At the invitation of the Congressional Subcommittee on Capital Markets, Insurance, and Government-Sponsored Enterprises, he provided testimony on corporate accounting practices during the Sarbanes-Oxley Act hearings.

The accounting profession has bestowed many honors on Professor Holder for his service and lifetime achievements, including the AICPA’s Gold Medal Award for Distinguished Service, the organization’s highest honor for a CPA. He has won numerous outstanding teaching awards, including Best Professor in the University of Southern California master’s degree program.
