Mr. Flynn is the Practice team leader for the firm's Energy, Marcellus Shale and Nanotechnology practice teams. His practice is concentrated in the areas of environmental law and energy. With respect to environmental law, Mr. Flynn concentrates on regulatory compliance consultations and brownfield redevelopment. He has written extensively on environmental topics including environmental issues related to nanotechnology development. He was involved in the first successful conversion of a former industrial brownfield into a modern manufacturing facility in New York State. In addition, Mr. Flynn advises clients on business development issues and the regulation of energy before state and federal authorities. He also advises clients on the development and siting of renewable energy, merchant power generating facilities, and licensing of hydropower projects.
Mr. Graham concentrates his practice in environmental law, energy and land use, including telecommunications. With a knowledge of all major federal and New York environmental laws, he counsels on environmental compliance, regulations, litigation, natural resources, renewable energy, greenhouse gas emissions, and environmental due diligence with respect to real property use, redevelopment and other commercial transactions.
Mr. Graham also focuses on brownfield redevelopment and related project development, Great Lakes Basin regulations, as well as defense of government civil and criminal enforcement of environmental laws. With respect to telecommunications, Mr. Graham handles matters related to construction, modification and operation of cell tower and other communications facilities, including zoning and land use permitting, administrative proceedings and litigation. He was the firm's managing partner from 2001-2007. He has been recognized as a Leading Individual for Environmental Excellence in Chambers USA: Americas Leading Lawyers for Business for the past five years. He is also listed as a Lawyer of the Year in The Best Lawyers in America®, Upstate New York Super Lawyers® and 2013 Legal Elite of WNY, Business First of Buffalo and Buffalo Law Journal.
Mr. Hogan, former Trial Department administrator and current Environment Practice team leader, concentrates his practice in the areas of environmental law, intellectual property and litigation. An effective and efficient legal advisor, he counsels clients on environmental compliance at both the state and federal levels, with respect to investigations and enforcement proceedings by state and federal agencies, and on environmental issues arising in corporate and commercial transactions.
An experienced litigator with a track record of successfully resolving disputes, Mr. Hogan defends clients in environmental cost recovery claims, toxic exposure lawsuits, and engineering and professional malpractice claims. He also represents clients in disputes involving patents, licenses, trademarks and other intellectual property. Mr. Hogan is a skilled negotiator who also serves as a court-designated mediator in the Western District of New York.
