Sandra Forman Joins Proskauer’s Business Development Company Team; Firm Bolsters Commercial Litigation Capabilities With Addition Of Peter Duffy Doyle

Global law firm Proskauer announced today that Sandra Matrick Forman is joining the firm as a senior counsel in the New York office, effective July 1. Ms. Forman joins Proskauer’s significant business development companies (BDCs) team, which advises BDCs on transactional, financing and regulatory matters across its Capital Markets, Private Equity, Multi-Tranche Finance and Private Investment Funds practices.

Ms. Forman comes to the firm after a decade at Harris & Harris Group, a BDC specializing in transformative life science companies, where she was general counsel and chief compliance officer.

She brings additional depth to Proskauer‘s BDC practice, which advises key participants in the sector, including the largest BDCs and many others, their management companies/sponsors and portfolio companies, and investment banks. The firm provides a wide range of services to its BDC clients with regard to portfolio investments (both debt and equity), formation-related matters, transactions, capital markets, and regulatory and tax issues. Proskauer‘s Multi-Tranche Finance Group, which represents numerous BDCs as lenders and/or investors, is among the most sophisticated of its kind and has advised in hundreds of financing transactions.

Prior to working at Harris & Harris Group, Ms. Forman was an associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. She is a graduate of the UCLA School of Law and New York University.

Proskauer announced today that Peter Duffy Doyle has joined the firm’s Litigation practice as partner in New York. A highly regarded litigator and first-chair trial lawyer, Mr. Doyle has an extensive and successful record of litigating complex commercial, financial, securities and shareholder disputes at the trial and appellate levels in state and federal courts across the United States.

Mr. Doyle has represented global financial institutions and corporations in “bet-the-company” disputes, including major nationwide class actions, contractual and fiduciary disputes, and matters arising from public and private M&A transactions and corporate investments. He also has strong technical experience in a wide range of industries including health care, shipping, financial services, investment management, telecommunications and manufacturing, security, and defense. Mr. Doyle's clients have included Community Health, 3G Capital, ABB, American Industrial Partners, Gaylord Container, Health Management Associates, Morgan Stanley and United Airlines.


Mr. Doyle joins Proskauer from Kirkland & Ellis LLP where he was a litigation partner. Earlier in his career, he served as a clerk in the Southern District of New York for the Honorable Denny Chin, who now serves on the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Mr. Doyle is a graduate of Swarthmore College and received his JD from Fordham University School of Law.
