Arlene Switzer Steinfield has joined Dykema as senior counsel in its Labor & Employment Practice Group, resident in Dykema’s Dallas office.
Ms. Steinfield has practiced exclusively in labor and employment law for more than 35 years, representing employers in a variety of labor and employment law matters, including state and federal litigation of workplace disputes. Her practice focuses on employment discrimination and harassment litigation, and advising employers on proactive measures to avoid liability. Steinfield also has experience with common law actions involving restrictive covenants, nondisclosure agreements, wrongful termination, breach of contract, workplace torts and whistleblower claims.
In addition, Ms. Steinfield serves as an independent investigator of internal workplace harassment and discrimination complaints, and suspected misconduct. She also represents employers in arbitrations in both union and non-union settings, serves as a mediator for workplace disputes and conducts supervisory training for clients.
Ms. Steinfield represents clients in a broad array of businesses and industries, including professional services firms, health care practice groups and hospitals, private schools, energy companies, pharmaceutical firms, manufacturers and financial services.
Ms. Steinfield is active in the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, for which she chaired the Fifth Circuit Credentials Committee for the past four years and now serves as the chair of the Fifth Circuit Regional Activities Committee. She is also a member of the American Employment Law Council.

Dykema has announced the addition of Stephen Komarec as senior counsel in its Intellectual Property Group. Mr. Komarec joins as senior counsel resident in the firm’s Minneapolis office.
Mr. Komarec has extensive experience in worldwide patent preparation and prosecution, including extensive work with foreign counsel to establish global patent portfolios for clients. His practice focuses on all manners of intellectual property protection and defense, including counseling clients on the patentability of ideas, non-infringement opinions, invalidity opinions and re-issue applications.
Mr. Komarec’s industry experience covers a wide array of technologies that include aerospace systems, turbine engines, medical devices, fuel and lubrication systems, heat exchangers, industrial process control systems and computer storage devices.
